1 - Uploading & Embedding Videos

or click Upload Files from the top of your Admin Panel. You can also upload from the Media tab.

Uploading Videos

If the video is a YouTube video, first upload your video to YouTube and then copy the URL in the Share box.

Uploading YouTube Videos

To upload a YouTube video to LVSYS:

From the Files list,open the YouTube item.
Click Add New YouTube.
Complete the video fields as follows:

Active – Select to allow video to show on website.
Title – Enter a meaningful title for the video.
Width – Enter pixel size, i.e. 560. Find standard dimensions under your video on the YouTube site.
Height – Enter pixel size, i.e. 315. Find standard dimensions under your video on the YouTube site.
YouTube Script – DO NOT USE.
YouTube URL – Paste the copied YouTube URL. The URL is in the form http://youtu.be/QrbVeefi4.

Save and view your video on the website to ensure it displays correctly.

Uploading Other Videos

The LVSYS CMS supports the upload and play of FLV and MP4 videos.

From the Upload list, open the videos item.
Click the upload link.
Browse to the video location.
Select the video(s) and click Open.

Attaching and Embedding Videos

Once a video is uploaded, place it in articles, products, and other items by attaching it in the Media tab or by embedding it in body text. Attaching a video places the video in the media area designated by the template. Embedding a video allows you to choose where to place the video within the body text.

Attaching All Videos

To attach videos in the Media tab:

From the Media tab of an item, select YouTube or Videos to filter the view to the type of media you wish to see.
Drag the video from the Selection pane to the Display pane on right and Save.
Test the video to ensure it displays properly.

Embedding YouTube Videos

To embed a YouTube video:

In the body text, click where you wish to add the video. Enter the short code: ( ( youtube|name of youtube video ) ). The Name is the name you assigned to the video in the system and must match the title in the Youtube section of Uploads. The code syntax and name must be exact or it will not work.
Save and view your video on the website to ensure it displays correctly.

To specify width and height, add the attributes below to the short code.
( ( youtube|name of youtube video|width=pixel number|height=pixel number ) )

Embedding Video Files

To embed a video file uploaded to the "Documents->Video" section

In the body text, click where you wish to add the video. Enter the short code: ( ( video|name of video.extension ) ). The Name is the name you assigned to the video in the system and must match the title. The extension is either .flv or .mp4. The code syntax, name and extension must be exact or it will not work.
Add other code snippets to set dimensions, auto play, looping and toolbar behavior. For more information: Embedding with Short Code.
Save and view your video on the website to ensure it displays correctly.
